Summary
For the study described by Allen et al., 2020, a special NO2 processing was performed of selected TROPOMI orbits:Details on the latter two points can be found in this document.
- Selected orbits pass over the Eastern USA.
- Processed are orbit segments with nadir satellite latitudes between about 10 and 60 degrees North, each 14-15 minutes in duration (the image on the right shows an example).
- Processing performed with a test version of the version 2.1 TROPOMI NO2 processor to be deployed mid 2021.
- Processor settings for handling saturation and outliers in the fit residual are relaxed w.r.t. the official v2.1 processing.
- Output files contain some additional dataset added to ease the analysis in the lightning NOx study.
List of data files
The names of the file follow the format of the original TROPOMI data files, i.e. with start and end date/time of the full orbit rather than actual time coverage of the data.
The string "TEST" and the version number "020101" indicate that the data is from the special test version processing described above.
Filesizes are about 170MB prior to 6 August 2019 (the moment when the along track TROPOMI pixel size was reduced) and about 210MB after that.S5P_TEST_L2__NO2____20180721T181914_20180721T200044_03992_01_020100_20191121T083317.nc
